Assignment 03: One Light

Ki sometime looks like spacing out, daydreaming, or even quiet sophisticated makes me wonder what is in his mind and head.

Opposite feeling of sophisticated philosophical Ki.

Ji-Hoon seems like not quiet self-revealing, behind the curtain, and sometimes a little shy, and makes me think that maybe another person could be co-existing in him.

This is completely opposite of behind-the-curtian Ji-Hoon. I've got motivated by Teletubby theme, and let him smile like one of them. He looks so innocent and self-revealing here.

Sukshma is pretty straightforward, expressing something directly to person instead of talking behind or concealing her true emotion in real life. This picture is to aim to show her those genuine qualities.

This is quite opposite to straightforwardness or self-revealing Sukshama. It is rather a little ambiguous and staying in the dark portrait.

I guess my friends tried to interpret my brightness and positive personality in this portrait.

Opposite of brightness - dark and gloomy.

Assignment 02: Demonstrate 3 laws of light in one photograph

In this assignment, we have proved that the angle of incident light is equal to the angle of reflected light. Also, the intensity of straight light diminished inversely as it is reflected on the mirror. Lastly, as the light travels straight forward its dimension is getting wider.

angle of incident light = angle of reflected light

Assignment 01: Inverse Square Law

Jemma, Jihoon, and Sukshma have explored how the inverse square law can be applied to the real situation. For the first trial, we have set the three identical grey cards with the same distance for each other, and set the distance from the light as 2ft, 4ft, 8ft, 16ft, 32ft from the middle grey card to see if we could make the middle grey card identical for those different distances by manipulating shutter speed. We set ISO as 100, and f-stop as 9 consistently as we were increasing the shutter speeds by using inverse square law l=1/d², and saw if the number calculated working same as the number appeared on the light meter. For the second trial, we have tested out using a black card in front, a grey card in the middle, and a white card in the back to see if we can make all 3 cards appear to be the same value by moving the cards and the single light source.

Single ambient light source 2ft. away from the middle grey card

Single ambient light source 4ft. away from the middle grey card
1/8, f/9, ISO 100

Single ambient light source 8ft. away from the middle grey card
1/2, f/9, ISO 100

Single ambient light source 16ft away from the middle grey card
2, f/9, ISO 100
